Marian Wilson Marian Wilson, 88, of Lafayette, formerly of Flora, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Sat., Oct. 28, 2006, at Rosewalk Village. She was born June 28, 1918, in Williamsport, Indiana, to Joseph and Myrtle Dell Rader Alexander. She was a 1936 graduate of Boswell High School. On Nov. 20, 1954, she married Robert H. Wilson Sr. in Kentland. He preceded her on Feb. 15, 1987. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a prep cook. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, putting puzzles together and playing the piano. She also enjoyed writing poems. She was a member of both the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Flora and the Boswell Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Attica VFW, a Lady of the Moose and the Elks. Surviving are two sons, Robert H. Wilson Jr. (wife: Deb) of Lafayette and Lester "Butch" Sturgeon (wife: Glenda) of Auburn, Calif.; two daughters, Paula Sturgeon Powell (husband: Bill) of Sullivan and Linda Owens (husband: Hazel) of Evansville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One daughter and one grandson preceded her in death. Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Reinke Funeral Home in Flora. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Burial will be at Springvale Cemetery in Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Alzheimer Association or the American Diabetes Association. |
