Costume winners named in Burlington

Burlington Kiwanis Club held its annual Harvest Party Saturday evening. Forty-five costumed contestants competed in the judging contest.

Winners were chosen in three categories - prettiest, scariest and most original. Winners in the respective age groups were as follows:

Ages 0-2: Prettiest - Brett Lytle, Mickey Mouse; Scariest Conner Harmon, Spiderman; Most Original - Rylie Lanum, pumpkin.

Ages 3-5: Prettiest - Jilian Herron, Dorothy; Scariest - Isaac Whetzel, zombie skatepunk; Most Original - Malachi Sewell, pumpkin scarecrow.

Ages 6-8: Prettiest - Bailey Pohlman, Renasciance princess; Scariest - Wyatt Carmack, Freddie Kruger; Most Original - Ady Herron, Tin Man.

Ages 9-11: Prettiest - Savannah Wilson, witch; Scariest - Cameron Burris, predator; Most Original - Josh Harrett, Darth Vader.

Ages 12-13: Prettiest - Kristi Coulbern, Spiderwoman; Scariest - Alyssa Ingram, vampire.

Age 14 to adult: Prettiest - Rachel Hunt, French maid; Scariest - Neal Harmon, ugly old man; Most Original - Lourdes Lytle, housewife.

The judges' choice winners were: Prettiest - John and Cason Lambert, Big Mac and French fries; Scariest - Jadelyn, Bailey and Benjamin Pohlman, slaying dragon ensemble; Most Original - Jilian and Adysan Herron, Dorothy and the Tin Man.

The overall best in all categories were: Prettiest - Tie: Bailey Pohlman, princess, and Jilian Herron, Dorothy. Scariest - Neal Harmon, ugly old man. Most Original - Malachi Sewell, scarecrow.

The overall winners were Jilian and Adysan Herron as Dorothy and the Tin Man.

Judges were Beth Sorensen, Jeannette Crum and Norma Grant.

Chili, hot dogs and drinks were provided by Kiwanis Club.
