Announcements DOLLY MADISON HOMEMAKERS CLUB will meet Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Doris Walton. Bev Seese will be co-hostess. CARROLL COUNTY EXTENSION ANNUAL MEETING Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m. at the 4-H building. After breakfast, all present will vote on candidates for the Carroll County Extension Board. The program will include highlights of 4-H members' summer trips, Carroll County Extension Homemakers' Chorus and review of the 2006 Extension Programs. PRETTY PRAIRIE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION will be cleaning the cemetery Nov. 4 at 1:30 p.m. All faded and out-ofseason decorations will be removed. White County Health Department will sponsor a FLU SHOT CLINIC Nov. 4 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Twin Lakes school auxiliary gym. Shots are $10, free for Medicare/Medicaid and children under 18. Pam Zurfas, R.N., will provide DIABETIC FOOT EXAMS AND NAIL TRIMS the first Thursday of each month at the following locations: Delphi Senior Center from 9 to 11 a.m., Camden Senior Housing Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (until the Flora Senior Center re-opens), and Burlington Senior Housing Community Center from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Carroll County Senior and Family Services will host FLU SHOTS Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stone Barn in Delphi and Valley View Baptist Church in Flora Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shots are free to those on Medicare Part B. Delphi Public Library is hosting INTRODUCTION TO PUBLIC SPEAKING class Nov. 2 and 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mary McVay, former English Arts instructor for Ivy Tech will advise participants about the necessary skills needed for communicating effectively. SCRABBLE SCRIMMAGE FOR LITERACY will be Thursday at the Delphi Community High School Commons from 6 to 8 p.m. Teams need to register between 5:30 and 5:45. Teams of four are $25 for families and $40 for all others. There will be door prizes, refreshments, and fun. All proceeds will benefit Carroll County Advocates for Literacy, Inc. The event is being sponsored by Delphi and Flora chapters of Psi Iota Xi. CARROLL COUNTY SINGLES will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Flora United Methodist Church. Reservations may be made by calling 574-967- 3553 or 574-967-3744. VOLUNTEER CALLOUT for all interested in joining the canal and trails group will be Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Canal Center. A simple supper will be served, and then volunteers will break into groups according to their interests. Specific areas include: Leading trail walks, being a volunteer host in the Canal Center, working on indoor/outdoor construction projects, helping with trail cleanup workdays, etc. Carroll Consolidated School Corporation's TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE will meet in the High School Cafeteria at 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 6. |
