Betty J. Nichols Pruitt, 77, of Delphi, died at 3:13 p.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at St. E l i z a b e t h M e d i c a l C e n t e r , Lafayette. She

patient there one week and in ill health since February.
Born Feb. 2, 1929, in Pittsburg, she was the daughter of Vernon and Pauline Schooler Nichols. Her first marriage was to Thomas E. Pruitt on Feb, 2, 1947, in Delphi, and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1984. Her second marriage was to William Harvey in Delphi in 1990, and he preceded her in death in 1997.
She attended Delphi High School, and worked at the Delphi Pizza King for over 25 years.
Mrs. Pruitt enjoyed flower gardening, reading, wintering at her Fort Pierce, Fla., home, and playing bingo.
Surviving are one daughter, Lucretia Coghill (husband: Thomas) of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Evelyn F. Pruitt of Macy, and Joan Secrest of West Lafayette; a brother, Paul Nichols (wife: Elsie) of Titusville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Todd Coghill and Jacqueline Coghill; and one great-grandson, Tyler Amerson. She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Services were Friday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, with Pastor Michael Young officiating. Burial was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
