Joanne L. Brown Kipp
Joanne L. Brown Kipp, 61, formerly of Delphi, died Oct. 19, 2006, at 8:46 p.m. at St. Elizabeth M e d i c a l C e n t e r , Lafayette. She had been a patient there two days, and a resident of Regency Place Healthcare Center, Lafayette, since July of this year.
She was born Feb. 11, 1945, in Lafayette, to Theran and Helen Hamilton Brown, who survive and live in Lafayette. A 1963 graduate of East Tipp High School, she worked for 20 years as the purchasing manager at the former Alloy Craft/Lox Cryogenic Tank (now Custom Allied Products) in Delphi. She then worked at the Carroll County Highway Department for three years.
She was a member of the Colburn United Methodist Church and a past president and member of the Delphi Professional Business Women's Club, receiving the club's Woman of the Year Award in 1990.
As young adult, she was very involved with 4-H horse and pony activities. She was also an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving with her parents are two daughters, Michele Everett (husband: Michael) of Camden and Suzanne Wolf (husband: Johnathan) of New Carlisle, Ohio; one son, John Kipp (wife: Karen) of Fort Wayne; one sister, Sandra Collier (husband: David) of Lafayette; one brother, Richard Brown (wife: Peggy) of Remington; seven grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
Services were held Monday morning at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. The Rev. Kasey Schnepp officiated. Burial was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
