Don't miss the "theatrical event of the year" when Delphi Public Library presents their annual murder mystery, "All Is Air in Love and Lies," Oct. 29. The public is invited to join romance novelists from around the globe as they gather for the Loveknot Award, presented by Heartthrob Books editor, Benton Fish (played by Noel Pinkard) "Bubbly" refreshments will be served in the library's Gerber Globe Valve Room promptly at 2 p.m. and audience members will have a chance to socialize with the nominated authors.

After the reception, festivities will move next door to the Presbyterian Church basement where the Loveknot recipient will be revealed. Friends of Delphi Public Library will serve a dessert and the audience will be treated to the murder mystery.

The Coffee Beat scheduled for Nov. 4 will feature the music and humor of Guitars for Lunch. This entertaining trio brings two guitars, a stand up bass, a wide variety of music and two-part harmony. Music and coffee will be served from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

The library will host a two-part introduction to Public Speaking Workshop Nov. 2 and 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Gerber Globe Valve Room. Mary McVay, a former high school speech and Ivy Tech instructor, will present the program. To register and for additional information, call (765) 564- 2929.

The library will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The library will reopen Nov. 13 at 10 a.m.

Flora-Monroe Township

Are you a Scrabble champion? Test your skills in the first annual Scrabble Scrimmage for Literacy on Thursday, Nov, 2nd. The program is a fundraiser for the Adult Literacy Programs in Carroll County and the Carroll County Support Fund for literacy of Carroll County Advocates for Literacy, Inc. Teams can be made up of family members, organizations and/or churches.

There will be prizes (including best team outfits), refreshments, and even sneak "peeks" at the dictionary for a price! Registration for teams ends Oct. 27. Information and registration forms are available at the main desk of the library.

Learn about the five basic art elements in a new art class taught be Brenda Daly Reid. Art Elements will be Monday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m., Nov. 6- Dec. 4. Each week will focus on one of the five elements - line, shape, form, color and balance. Ms. Reid will feature her own work as well as selected works of art history. The course is suitable for beginners and continuing students.

The theme of the next storytime is "Pumpkins." Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
