Museum staff recently came across a Lafayette Home Hospital invoice dated Aug. 28, 1935. The invoice was made out to Mr. Everett Beard, Delphi, Ind. He was in the hospital for 14 days. The invoice read: vRoom and Care - $28, vMedication - $1.40, vOperating Room - $10, vLab & Pathology fees - $1,

vSpecial Nurse - $2.

The entire invoice totaled $42.40. What a difference 74 years makes!

An odd coincidence occurred on Oct. 12. Paul Mikesell of Delphi brought in a harness horse for working with leather. It belonged to his great-grandfather, Valentine Coble. About a half hour later, museum curator Phyllis Moore was called upstairs by the clerk's office to look at a book. Two women from California, Annetta Reardon and Catherine Hileman, were there and wanted her to figure out the estate of Valentine Coble.
