What's Happening Elsewhere Lafayette Renaissance Galleries present "HOOSIER PAINTERS OF THE 21ST CENTURY," a book by Mark Butterfield. A reception for the author will be held Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It has taken Butterfield over two years to research and complete his book. Jeff Klinker from Lafayette as well as Lafayette Renaissance artists Lois Sinnett and Jean Garro are included in the book. Butterfield has been in the national music scene as a music promoter and producer. He does the Acoustic Caf music series in Indy, St. Louis, and Kansas City, as well as working as a sound engineer for national recording artists. He also makes custom guitars for many national recording artists. At 1 p.m., Butterfield will give a talk about his book and his career in the arts. The book is not available in bookstores. The LAFAYETTE RENAISSANCE GALLERIES, 635 Ferry Street, is hosting a part of the Hoosier Salon's 82nd traveling exhibit now until Nov. 11. Twenty-one works are showcased. Brookston Prairie Public Library will host SCRAPBOOK WORKSHOPS on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The first two meetings are Nov. 1 and Dec. 6. There will be a Bedtime Story Hour in the Children's Room. Please bring 4-5 fall pictures to the November session. To register, call (765) 563-6511. THE DNA LIFEPRINT CHILD SAFETY PROGRAM will be offered Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bob Rohrman Toyota, located at 701 Sagamore Parkway South, Lafayette.
