Ray Garrison Ra Garrison, 83, of Delphi, died at 3:40 a.m. Oct. 7, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. Born May 17, 1923, in Adams Township, Carroll County, he was the son of Russell and Fanny Hoover Garrison. He graduated from Rockfield High School in 1941. On July 21, 1968, he married Connie Strasser in the Burrows Presbyterian Church. Mr. Garrison was a farmer and life-long resident of Carroll County. A veteran of World War II, he was a staff sergeant with the Army Air Force. He was a member of the Burrows Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder; American Legion Post 413 at Camden; and the I.O.O.F. Lodge at Delphi. He was a retired member of the Rock Creek Township Volunteer Fire Dept. Surviving with his wife are two sons, Andrew Garrison and Charles Garrison, both of rural Delphi. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lois Flora, Ione Powell, Marge Zook and Dorothy Ballard; a brother, Ralph Garrison; and an infant daughter and an infant son. Service was held Tuesday at Cree Funeral Home in Camden with Pastor Nick Clark and the Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial was at the Rockfield I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rockfield. Memorials may be made to Burrows Presbyterian Church or to American Legion Post 413. |
