Harold C. Johnson

Harold C . Johnson, 79, of Flora, died at 3:50 p.m. Sept. 30, 2006, at his residence. He had been in ill health for four months.

Born Jan. 23, 1927, in Carroll County, he was the son of Carl C. and Ina Snider Johnson. He graduated from Flora High School in 1945. His marriage was on Oct. 9, 1949, in North Manchester, to Waneta Jones, who survives.

Mr. Johnson farmed from 1949 until his retirement in 1990. He also drove a bus for the Carroll Consolidated School Corporation for ten years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from June 1945 until November 1946.

He was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Mark Dennis Johnson of Frankfort, Steven Jay Johnson of Kokomo, and Jon Carl Johnson (wife: Carrie) of O'Fallon, Mo.; three brothers, Paul S. Johnson (wife: Laney) of Naples, Fla., Charles Lee Johnson (wife: Maureen) and Robert D. Johnson (wife: Sandy), all of Flora; one sister, Carol Jean Brewster (husband: Eddie) of Burlington; one grandson, Clark Daniel Johnson; and one granddaughter, Allison Marie Johnson.

A sister, Emma Jane Shriver, preceded him in death.

Services were held Tuesday morning at the Flora United Methodist Church. Pastor Larry DeVos officiated and burial was at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Baker Funeral Home, Flora, (www.bakerfh.com) was in charge of arrangements.
