Washington Twp. Deer Creek Community Center will have its annual meeting Oct. 28. There will be a breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m., with the meeting following. This is an opportunity to pay annual membership fees. Grissom Reserve Base will be displaying a KC-135R Stratotanker cockpit and boom on the basketball court from 8 to noon. An upcoming event is a brunch and style show by The Grapevine Boutique on Nov. 4. Board members are Lois Wallace, Jim Wallace, Sheila Meek, Donna Hylton, Terry Rhea, Denny Crum, Cindy Wagoner, Jo Upton, Kathie Dymek. The October meeting of Faith Lutheran WELCA will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the church. This is the bi-annual businessmeeting. Etta Byers will give devotions and Betty Bell and Phyllis Rinehart will be in charge of refreshments. All women of the church are invited. The Good Neighbor Gals met recently at Gracie's for lunch. Those attending were Dot Fulton, Betty Bell, Treasa South, Mary Ellen Johnson, Barbara Ottinger, Ellen Herr, Marilyn Hile, Helen Forgey and Dottie Delaplane. Fred Martin, Dr. Jack Jones, Helen Forgey and Doris Jean Bryan traveled to Indianapolis recently to visit and take Mary Martin out to lunch. Lois Wallace hosted a cookie party recently at her home. Attending were Helen Forgey, Ruthina Forgey, Mary Ellen Johnson, Myra Miller, Barbara Ottinger, Sandy Brown and Dorthy Floyd. The annual Deer Creek Cricket Party was held recently at Nan Jones's home. Attending were Barbara Ottinger, Chris Kennell, Nancy Weaver and Lois Wallace. The 1957 class of Deer Creek High School met recently at the Sportman's Inn in Monticello. After dinner they all returned to the home of Jim Wallace for dessert. Attending were Jim and Fran Farney, George and Lois Wallace, Nan and Larry Jones, Harold and Marcia Appleton and Ron and Shirley Kuszmaul. |
