The Coffee Beat scheduled for Oct. 14 will feature the music of Steve Hill. Hill is anticipating the release of his upcoming CD to coincide with his appearance at the library. The Coffee Beat offers a coffee house atmosphere where you can come and enjoy live music, good conversation and free coffee and tea.
Evening Book Club will meet on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. to discuss former president Jimmy Carter's boyhood memoir, An Hour Before Daylight. In this warm, almost sepiatoned narrative, Carter describes his relationships with his parents and with the five people, only two of whom were white, who most affected his early life. Best of all, however, Carter presents his sweetly nostalgic recollections of a lost America.
Book Club will meet at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 to discuss The Dogs of Bedlam Farm by Jon Katz. The review, to be presented by Margaret Marchand, will recount the story of a harrowing winter Katz spent on a remote hillside in upstate New York with a few life-saving friends, ugly ghosts from the past, and more livestock than any novice should attempt to manage.
Delphi Public Library's Red Brick Theatre is in rehearsal for "All is Fair in Love and Lies," an audience participation murder mystery. The murder comedy will be performed Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The sixth grade art enrichment class from Carroll Elementary School has an art exhibit displayed on the main floor of the library. The children made examples of Dada and Surrealism art. These two styles were popular in the early 1900s and are still used by contemporary artists, especially in advertising.
The students also have drawings of hands and feet, and chair designs inspired by interior designers and artisans. Grace Woodruff teaches the art enrichment program.
Find out about all the fun things to see and do in your own backyard! The Carroll County tourism brochure is available to help plan your weekend adventures. The guide furnishes information on county history, rural architecture, infrastructure, scenic driving routes, county bridges, outdoor activities, antiques and shopping, restaurants, and hometown groceries. The tourism brochure is available at the main desk.
The library will be celebrating Teen Read Week Oct. 15- 21. We join hundreds of other libraries, schools and bookstores across the countries that are encouraging teens to celebrate this year's theme, "Get Active at Your Library." This year's theme encourages teens to use resources at our library to lead an active life by volunteering, sports, and preparing for college.
The theme of the next storytime is "Stop, Drop! & Roll." Let's explore stories about the people who help make our town safe and secure. Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
