CARROLL COUNTY AT THE CROSSROADS, a strategic planning program initiated in 2004, will host a community forum on Oct. 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal Interpretive Center. The program will feature Daryl Smith, executive director of the Carroll County Economic Development Corporation, and Keith Chandler, executive director of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, speaking on "Building a Dynamic Economic Future for Carroll County." The public is encouraged to attend.

Carroll Consolidated School Corporation TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 in the high school media center. Committee members are: Fred Schnarr, chairperson; Cathy Ayres, Phil Benson, Mike Eikenberry, Richard June, Judy McCracken, Chris McGrew, Tracy Miller, David Myer, Carolyn O'Connell, Tyler Sausaman, Katie Seward, Malena Zook and Sam Zook.

The DEER CREEK COMMUNITY CENTER will have its annual meeting Oct. 28. There will be a breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. with the meeting following. This is an opportunity to pay annual membership fees. Grissom Reserve Base will be displaying a KC-135R Stratotanker cockpit and boom on the basketball court from 8 until noon. There will be a brunch and style show by The Grapevine Boutique on Nov. 4.

DELPHI HISTORIC TRAILS will meet for a Saturday workday on Oct. 14. The day will include a free lunch at noon. Start by coming to Canal Park at 9 a.m. and getting oriented to work for the morning. Most volunteers will go to the canal section behind Pizza Hut/Dairy Queen where site clearing will occur. Brush, trees and debris must be removed to prepare a trail and location where the restored bridge will be set sometime next year. Work morning or all day. Wear work clothing, gloves and heavy shoes. The CARROLL DRAMA DEPARTMENT needs gentlemen's hats, suits, and suspenders for the coming production of "Guys and Dolls." Donations can be left with Stephenie Pencek at Rinehart Realtors at the corner of Center and Columbia streets in Flora.

CARROLL COUNTY COURTHOUSE will be closed Monday, Oct. 9, for Columbus Day.
