New feature... Staying Connected E-mail from those serving our country
Right now I'm stationed at Cherry Point, N.C. really just trying to count the days till I come home. I recently received orders to report to Vmgr-152, which is Camp Futemna, Okinawa, Japan. That news is not too bad for me. I get to see more of the world than a lot of people. The downfall is I have a 2-year tour in Japan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Guam, North Korea and so on. I guess to explain this better, when I deploy to Iraq for seven or eight months, instead of coming home, I will go back to Japan. I really love what I do and I enjoy being in the Corps. I would not trade it for the world, and if I had to do it over, I would do it again. After I finish this unit Nov. 22, I will be home for about 30 days. Then I will go on to Japan. There are a few things I do miss about home...the most important is my family, which have been there since the beginning, my girl of course, Lora Hanaway and all of my friends. Besides friends and family what I truly miss is the convenience of hometown living. For instance I can go to Encore to get my hair cut and they know my name and even how I want it cut. Another example would be going where I want to when I want to, and the store is not on the other side of town. The Comet thanks Lance Cpl. Adams for his e-mail to the community. If you or someone you know from Carroll County is serving our country and who would like to say a few words to those of us here at home, please ask them to send email to dlowe@carrollcountycomet. com Staying Connected is a new feature in the Carroll County Comet. |
