County students lend a hand

PRIDE Day at DCHS Students who have already passed the ISTEP+ testing at Delphi Community High School had the opportunity to show their community spirit by participating in PRIDE Day (People Rejuvenating and Improving Delphi community's Environment). Sixty students gave their own free time to help clean up and improve the community while classmates tested at the high school. Alex Conner, a junior, is pictured helping Dick Bradshaw rebuild the Riley Park boardwalk. Other students did clean-up work at Riley and Delphi City parks, and raked, weeded, and cleaned at the school corporation athletic fields. Photo provided
Carroll students volunteer Last week, during ISTEP+ testing, Carroll juniors and seniors who had already passed the tests could volunteer to work in the community and/or visit Purdue University or IUK. Rachel Hufford and Drew Ayres are pictured putting water sealant on a picnic bench at Carroll Village in Flora. Other places where students helped out were Flora and Burlington community parks, Flora Thrift Shop, Canal Park and trails, and Adams Mill. They also washed dump trucks and police cars for the Town of Flora. Seventy-six seniors and 32 juniors were involved in the community service on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.
