Fall Sports Summaries Cougars run to top four finishes at New Prairie Carroll High School's cross country teams traveled north 108 miles one-way to one of the nation's best high school cross country courses last Saturday and did very well. The girls ran their record to 75-6 by finishing second out of 40 schools, while the boys upped their record to 69-9 finishing fourth out of 38 teams. Individual honors were earned by Ashley Bordner (12th) and Courtney Rinehart (15th) for the girls while Kyle Wallace (13th) received kudos for the boys. Both races had 250 runners competing. "I'm very proud of our performances. This is a great course and what a way to start the 2nd part of our season", stated a delighted Coach Mike Miller. "This effort should provide us with the confidence we need to achieve our goals". Carroll results - Girls: 12. Ashley Bordner; 15. Courtney Rinehart; 32. Hope Hayden; 33. Kaitlin Kennedy; 62. Carroll; 5. North Miami. Oracle JV puts one in the win column The Delphi 9-10 football team got a notch in the win column last night by defeating the Blackhawks of Sheridan 18-6. The defense controlled the Hawk offense by swarm tackling on every play. Scoring touchdowns for the Oracles were Justin Snider with two passes from AJ Beckett. Beckett also ran one across the end stripe. The only score from the Blackhawks was a pass interception ran back for a score. The Oracles will play again Monday at home against Central Catholic. The team record is now 1-3. |
