The Athenians and the Oracles came into this game with identical records 1 win to 3 losses. It didn't take long to figure out who was going to win their second game of the year. Crawfordsville scored on their first play from scrimmage, a 75-yard TD pass. The Athenians went on to win, 38-7.

C'ville led 7-0 with only 17 seconds run off of the clock. Delphi, after getting a first down at their 45, then tossed an interception that was ran back for a TD by C'ville for a 14-0 lead. On Delphi's next possession, C'ville picked another Joe Little pass. This one was also run back for a TD.

Having run one offensive play and with only 3:11 gone off the clock, the Athenians held a 21-0 advantage.

After forcing Delphi to punt, the Athenians started their second series with a handoff to Daniel Keeling, who ran for 19 yards. The Oracles would see a lot of Keeling before the night was done. Keeling, who is being recruited by several MAC schools and at least one Big Ten school, would finish the game with over 200 yards rushing. After moving inside the Delphi 40, the Athenians tried for a first down on 4th and 6. Delphi stopped the attempt and took over on downs. After each team punted again, the Oracles drove from their own 25 to a 1st and ten at the C'ville 19-yard line.

Little completed three of four to highlight the drive. A run, incomplete pass and seven-yard completion set up a 4th and three at the 12yard line. If the Oracles could score here they would close the gap to within two scores and have some hope heading into halftime, but C'ville stuffed Chase Brummett at the line to end the threat.

The Oracles started the second half by scoring a TD within a minute. A 21-yard pass from Little to Michael Myers set up a 50 yard TD romp by Cory Smith, making the score 21-7.

It took C'ville five plays to quiet the Delphi faithful and extend the lead to 21 again. The Athenians lead was now 28-7. Delphi again moved the ball well

enough to get to the C'ville 30-yard line before turning the ball over on downs. A field goal by C'ville had the visitors up 31-7 with only seconds left in the third period.

A TD early in the final quarter by C'ville accounted for the final points of the game.

Leading rushers for Delphi were Smith with 78 yards. Brummett, Matt Lewis and AJ Beckett gained 22, 13 and 10 respectfully to help. Little completed 9 of 17 passes for 145 yards with three interceptions. Beckett completed 1 of 6 passes for 15 yards. Myers caught 5 passes for 74 yards, Kory Banes 2 for 25, Smith 1 for 14, Lewis 1 for 13 and Kyle Stonebraker 1 for 34 yards.

Delphi falls to 1-4 for the season. It won't get any easier as the Oracles must travel to conference foe Sheridan Friday. Sheridan is currently ranked at the top of the class A poll with a 5-0 record. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 kickoff.
