Harriet E. Deck

Graveside services for Harriet E. Deck, 85, of Lafayette, were held Friday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.

She died at 11:32 a.m. Sept. 12, 2006, at Lafayette Home Hospital.

Born Jan. 3, 1921, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Charles Alvin and Blanche Harris Fairchild. She married Ronald Deck in Lafayette in 1945, and he died in 1974.

Mrs. Deck had owned and operated H&R Block Tax Preparers in Brookston.

She was a former member of the First Christian Church in Lafayette.

Surviving are two daughters, Sylvia Holmes of Flora and Cheryl Deck of Indianapolis; two sisters, Edna Semon of Indianapolis and Phyllis Isenbager of West Lafayette; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A daughter, six sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
