This week, I'll share two sweet and simple treats. When Rachel Ruse of Delphi shares Butter Pecan Delight with coworkers or friends, they always request the recipe. The recipe starts with a boxed butter pecan cake mix, then gets creative. You'll also enjoy my recipe for Cherry Garcia Shortcake. The recipe looks awesome served on pretty serving plates. If you want to pinch pennies, use any brand of cherry ice cream. If you want the full effect, opt for Ben & Jerry's! Happy eating!

1 devils food cake mix with pudding
2 pints Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia
  Ice Cream
1/2 cup cherry preserves
1 jar prepared hot fudge sauce
whipped cream
cherries for garnish, of course
  Prepare cake according to package
    directions, using a fluted, bundt
or two loaf pans. When cool, cut into
half   inch   slices   and   assemble
dessert. Warm preserves and hot
fudge in the microwave. For each
dessert, place a teaspoon of hot
fudge on plate. Top with one cake
slice. Add a softened scoop of ice
cream, then pour on preserves. Top
with   second   cake   slice,   pressing
down slightly. Drench with hot fudge
and top with whipped cream and a
cherry. You may assemble desserts,
minus the hot fudge and whipped
cream, ahead of time. Wrap with
plastic wrap and store in the freezer
until   serving   day.     Remove   from
freezer 15 minutes before serving.
