Carroll High School Cross Country did something they have never done. They won three team trophies at one invitational. The Boys JV, Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity all placed first in the 16-team Caston Cross Country Invitational held Saturday.

Led by Seth Larimore (4th JV), Ashley Bordner and Courtney Rinehart (6th and 8th respectively in the varsity girls) and Kyle Wallace and Tyler Macy (4th and 10th respectively in the varsity boys) the Cougars ran to hard fought victories on a slick and soggy course.

"We have talked about what it takes to win as a team. Individual honors are great but to win as a team is the ultimate accomplishment," a happy Coach Mike Miller stated after the day was over.

The Cougars ran as a pack better on Saturday than they have in their earlier meets. The girls put six runners in the top 27 and the boys put five in the top 23.

"This was a day that all 20 runners contributed to the day's events," said Miller. "I'm proud of how my entire team performed today." The CHS harriers host the

Cougar Invitational Thursday and run at the Rensselaer Invitational Saturday.
