Every month, 70 guests are served a scrumptious threecourse meal in a cozy atmosphere. The food is served by good-natured waiters, the entertainment is top-notch and the after-lunch games are a ball.
Sounds like a club or a house party, but it's the First Presbyterian Church in Delphi who hosts the luncheon every month for area seniors.
"It's a great place for seniors to get together," said Rosalie Wilson.
She joined FPC committee members Judy Conner, Jean Willy and Pat Duff to host the ongoing event, which began last winter. Conner said it was Wilson's idea to do something for the seniors in the community.
"We knew we wouldn't be getting new members (in the First Presbyterian Church) because most seniors have their own churches," said Conner. "It's just something to do for the community in Christian love."

During the luncheons, Bob Conner and Lois Powlen, who make up Senior Class, entertain the diners with classic songs.
After lunch, there are always cards, Bingo or table games.
"I enjoy being with the other church members and the fellowship," said Ruth Anderson, who helps serve the lunches. She said she visits with quite a few of the guests, and everyone has a good time.
Judy Conner said the residents of St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center and Carroll Manor are always invited and quite a few attend.
"Junior Orr and Lloyd Anderson are always there to help guests onto the elevator and Bob Quinn is always there to serve drinks," she said.
"I think everyone looks forward to it. I have a neighbor who always asks me what we're serving next time."
