Oracle JV falls to West Lafayette

The Delphi Junior Varsity football team traveled to West Lafayette Monday night and lost a close 12-6 contest on a rain soaked field.

The Oracles could not get an offense going while the defense bent, but rarely broke. The score at half was 6-0 West Side. The Oracles had a roll going, moving the ball at half behind runs from Adam Parish and AJ Beckett.

In the second half at the end of the third quarter, the West Side running back broke away for a 20yard score. The defense had him stopped for a loss but he kept going and broke free to score. The Oracles came back on their next series and scored on a 13-yard pass to Tanner Cripe from Beckett. With plenty of time left the Oracles could not get the ball in the end zone.

Top defensive players for Delphi were Braden Atwood and Ethan Henderson.

The junior varsity will be back in action Saturday against Twin Lakes.
