Steven W. Bishop

Steven Wayne Bishop, 46, of Logansport, died Aug. 27, 2006, at his residence.

Born Oct. 25, 1959, In Logansport, he was the son of Russell C. and M a x i n e Hellyer Bishop.

Steve had been employed at Martin's Supermarket.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and also attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was also a member of the Logansport Eagles.

An active fundraising volunteer, Steve helped with the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, and American Cancer Society.

He enjoyed playing Santa Claus at parties.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Russell and Mildred Bishop of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mary Lou Towe and Kathy Heckard, both of Logansport, and Patsy Yeakley of Delphi; his foster parents, Charles and Carol Smith of Camden; 16 foster siblings; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, three sisters, Mary Kathryn Collins, Barbara Jean Currier and Cheryl Lynn Bishop, and one foster brother, Jim Smith.

Friends may call at First Assembly of God in Logansport from 9 a.m. until the time of the service which will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Andy Weil will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
