Margaret Oldfield

F o r m e r Kokomo resident Margaret Oldfield, 94, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away at 12:05 p.m. on We d n e s d a y, Aug. 23, 2006, in Cutler, Indiana.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1911, the daughter of Herman Gerhard and Bertha (Hein) Westerman in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Jess Austin Oldfield on Oct. 12, 1932, in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death in 1982.

Margaret worked for various factories during the World War II era, and later retired from Delco Electronics with 30 years of service. After retiring, she moved to Orange Harbor Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Fla., where she lived until very recently. She enjoyed working on ceramics and taking her grandchildren fishing. She also liked to square dance and go on cruises.

She is survived by her children Jerry Oldfield (wife Bonnie) of Cutler, and Elsie Fording of Kokomo; grandchildren, Starla Eads (husband: Jon) and Jerry Oldfield (wife Sandy), all of Kokomo, and Michelle Keck (husband Jeff) of Burlington, Jodi Guise (husband Chris) of Flora, Barney Oldfield of Cutler, Jeff Davis of Texas, Steve Davis, Mark Davis (wife Renee) and Harry "Chip" Davis (wife Jennifer), all of Kokomo; greatgrandchildren, LeAnn Sefton (husband Tony), James DeLano, Jesse Parker, Tabitha Parker, Curtis Keck, Crystal Keck, Robin Guise, Andy Guise, Aletha Laterza, Robert Davis, Corina Guillory, Heather Heffley, and Shelby Lytle; greatgreat grandchildren, Skylor Sefton, Taylor Sefton, Celeste Guerrero, Zoe Laterza, Cadence Laterza, Shannondoah Lucas, and Nathanial Heffley; and brother, Charles Westerman (wife Betty) of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess A. Oldfield, her parents, and five sisters.

Funeral services were held Aug. 26 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, Kokomo. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
