Ancil D. Maxwell
Born July 14, 1915, in Carroll County, he was the son of Ellis and Olee Meador Maxwell. He was married on Aug. 11, 1939, near Delphi, to Lois I. Allbaugh, who survives. Mr. Maxwell was a truck driver for the Carroll County Highway Department and retired from Purdue University. He was a member of the Flora First Brethren Church. A resident of Flora since 1947, he loved repairing clocks and lawn mowers. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Carol Cox and Marjorie Calvert (husband: Glenn), all of Delphi; one son, Ralph D. Maxwell (wife: Carol) of Bringhurst; three brothers, Junior Maxwell (wife: Doris) of Camden, Perry Maxwell (wife: Rachel) of Delphi, and Virgil Maxwell (wife: Laura) of Flora; six grandchildren, Kimberly Baker, Pamela Salmon, Michelle Dillman, Janelle Pullen, and Randy Calvert; and nine greatgrandchildfren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Services were held Monday at Baker Funeral Home, Flora (www.bakerfh.com). Pastor Dan Herendeen officiated and burial was at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 180 Professional Court, Lafayette, IN 47905. |
