Faith Lutheran Church will host its 2nd annual Outdoor Celebration on Rally Day Sunday, Sept. 10. The outside worship service is an opportunity to honor all the local fire departments in this area and also Carroll County EMS and First Responders. The First Responders are a group from Washington Twp. that includes Pastor Tom McShannock, Dr. Steve Herr, Scott Hile and Dana Hile. This will be a pitch-in luncheon. Dress is causal. Services will start at 10 a.m. The Golden Girls of Deer Creek and The Good Neighbor Gals of Deer Creek had a joint meeting recently. They enjoyed brunch together in Karen Hylton's Barn. Karen, along with her daughter, Lindy served the women. After the meal, a story teller entertained the group. Jimpsie Doyel of Camden, told lots of stories, one of which was how the Red Hat Society was formed. She belongs to the Story Telling Society of Lafayette. Those attending were Pat Burham and Joan Jones of Thorntown, Betty Gordon , Jane Slusser and Lindy Shafer of Logansport, Marilyn Hile, Dot Fulton, and Margy Albaugh of Deer Creek and Mary Blue of Cutler. Members of the Good Neighbor group attending were Ellen Herr, Dottie Delaplane, Ruthina Forgey, Helen Forgey, Mary Ellen Johnson, Myra Miller, Debbie Delaplane, Doris Jean Bryan, and Betty Bell. A guest was Nina Hilton of Alabama.
