Freedom Center in Delphi is hosting the family restoration classes

RESTORING FAMILIES. Participants will discover the importance of communication skills development, learn how to deal with wounded emotions, realize unforgiveness is not a way to validate the pain we feel and many more aspects of restoration. Class is Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at 101 W. Front St. For more information, call Tom Marler at (765) 564-4410.

DELPHI AIRPORT RUNWAY CLOSED, daylight hours only, from Aug. 28 to the end of September for construction of the south-end safety zone. Pilots may land after issuing a radio request on frequency 122.9, 15 minutes prior to departure or as soon as possible prior to arrival. Pilots are asked to make position reports while in the traffic pattern. No touch and goes are allowed during construction. For information contact airport manager Brian Stirm at (765) 564-9658.

EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS COUNCIL MEETING will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the 4H Community Building in Flora.

CROCK-POT COOKERY- Fix it and Forget It will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 7 at the 4-H Community Building in Flora. Learn about food

safety and preparing healthy meals using a Crock-Pot. Busy families and singles are discovering new and different ways to use Crock-Pots to save time and eat healthier. This lesson will give information, recipes and consumer buying tips. It is free and open to the public.

Matters of Life and Death: Talking About ADVANCE DIRECTIVES - Clarify Your Wishes and Values will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 7 at the 4-H Community Building in Flora. It is designed to guide family members, minimize misunderstanding, maximize financial resources, increase choices and options while demonstrating care. It is free and open to the public.

WHAT DO QUILTS TELL US will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 7 at Flora 4-H building. It will explore the history of quilt making in America and examine how quilts were used in early America to meet the needs of pioneer culture. It will provide clues to help quilt owners determine the possible motivation of the quilt maker and the approximate age of the quilt. The event is free and open to the public.

DELPHI COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION BOARD OF SCHOOL

TRUSTEES will meet Sept. 5 and 18 at 7 p.m. for the regular school board meetings in September. This is a change from their previously announced meeting dates.

The State of Indiana's Environmental Quality Service Council will hold a public hearing concerning SEWER DISTRICT ISSUES Thurs., Sept. 7 beginning at 10 a.m. Public input is sought about issues and possible solutions to growing sewer district concerns. The hearing will be held in conference room C in the Government Center South, located directly across the street to the west of the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis. For information contact Rep. DELPHI ART CLUB will meet Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center at Delphi. Members will discuss the art show and future programs for the club. There will be a short program on phyography (wood burning).

Guests are welcome. New officers for the year are Carol L. Oliver, president; Sharon Case, vice president; Libby Sparks, secretary; Phyllis Porter, treasurer. Hosts for the meeting are Bob Sales, Bob Quinn, and Carol Oliver.

The RED CROSS BLOODMOBILE will visit Carroll County on Aug. 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Flora United Methodist Church. The area church with the most volunteer donors will receive $100, a gift of the Flora Psi Iota Xi, and each of those donors will receive a T-shirt. To make an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. Walk-ins are welcome.

GED PREPARATION CLASSES are now being offered at the Flora-Monroe Township Public Library. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Attend a session to register. The Town of Camden will host its annual FALL FESTIVALon Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a wide variety of activities, including a community breakfast, games, food booths, craft and flea market vendors, town-wide garage sales, live entertainment including Justin Tyme, Sharayah Red Elk, Resurrection, Chalisa Keaton, Neon Dove, and Insomnia.

The 16TH ANNUAL CUTLER COLLEGE, will be held Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at

76 E. 485 S. in downtown Cutler. There will be various craft and merchant booths, entertainment, and much more. A porkburger lunch will be served and in the evening an all-you-can-eat ham and bean supper.

The ORACLE ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB will have its fall meeting on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Delphi High School Commons. The discussion will be on plans for the 2006-07 school year, fundraising, and expenditures. Any Delphi School Corporation patron is welcome to attend.
