Elsise I Murphy
Elsie I. Murphy, 90, of Flora, died at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 21, 2006, at St. E l i z a b e t h H o s p i t a l M e d i c a l C e n t e r , Lafayette. Born May 11, 1916, in Hoopeston, Ill., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Snively. She graduated from high school in Hoopeston, Ill.

Her marriage was to Richard M. Murphy in Fowler in 1936, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1983.

Mrs. Murphy had worked at the former Sandy's Castle in Flora.

She was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church.

She loved her family. Surviving are two sons, Michael J. Murphy of Flora and Richard M. Murphy (wife: Sonia) of Carmel; one sister; and two granddaughters, Cathy and Amanda.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Esther, Amanda and an infant, and one brother, Edward.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Baker Funeral Home (www.bakerfh.com), Flora, with Pastor Larry DeVos officiating. Burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
