Redmon warns of scam

Flora Town Marshal Paul Redmon warns residents about a scam involving checking account information.

Redmon said he received reports from two elderly women last week. They both said that when they answered the telephone a male caller identified them by name and said that an error had been found with their checking account and he wanted to confirm bank information. Both women said that the caller made it sound urgent and that when they questioned him, he hung up.

In both instances the caller did not identify a bank by name.

Redmon asks that if anyone receives a similar call to contact Flora Police.
