Pearson honored by Red Cross
Carolyn Pearson of Delphi has received the Outstanding Blood Donor Award from the American Red Cross. She was honored at a banquet on Aug. 17.

Pearson has the highest donation frequency and most lifetime donations in the county, having donated 149 units of blood.

She said she started years ago and it's just "an easy thing to do to give back and it costs nothing. Blood is always needed and not everyone is able to give."

She said the 60 or 65 people who donate at Bloodmobile are the regulars and they frequently have a few first-time donors.

"There are many who are really dedicated," she said.
