Motorcyclists team up with MDA to save lives Eagle Harley-Davidson/Buell and Lafayette HOG Chapter #1188 will host their 15th Ride for MDA on Aug. 27. The ride starts at the Harley-Davidson dealership, 702 Navco Drive, and ends at the Wabash & Erie Canal Conference and Interpretive Center, 1030 N. Washington St. in Delphi. All motorcycle types and brands are welcome to participate. The 110-mile motorcycle ride will leave the dealership at 12:30 p.m. and will end at Delphi at the conference center around 4:30 p.m. A minimum donation of $15 per person or $25 per couple on one motorcycle is required to participate. Entry includes activities, ride, music and food. Registration will be held the day of the ride from 10:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. at the HarleyDavidson dealership. Lydia Hedde of Flora and Phil Ladd of Delphi, who is with the Lafayette HOG Chapter, will lead the parade of motorcycles. Hedde, a senior at Carroll Jr.Sr. High School, has helped with the event for the past four years. She has a form of Muscular Dystrophy called SharcottMarie-Tooth, named after the doctors who discovered this form of Muscular Dystrophy. |
