Festival & hog roast Aug. 26 in Deer Creek

A fun-filled day with activities for all ages will be held in Deer Creek on Aug. 26. The annual Deer Creek Festival and Hog Roast will be held at the community center on SR 29, at the north edge of town.

Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with a bake sale and cake walk inside the air conditioned community building. The Grapevine Boutique of Flora will have jewelry and fashions on display.

Children's games and contests will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 3. Bingo will be played from 1 to 3 p.m.

New this year will be a car seat clinic, child ID kit, and First Responders. They will be set up at 11 a.m.

Lunch will be available in the community building from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The "all-you-caneat" hog roast will be served from 4 to 7 p.m.

The festival will conclude with a concert by The Toad Barn Gang. Those attending should take their own lawn chair.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Deer Creek Community Center.
