New school year, new sign
Carroll Elementary has a new sign this year. The sign's recycled content equals 5,539 milk jugs collected last school year. The 2005-2006 second grade teachers and students coordinated the project, and milk jugs were brought in by the whole school. Rhonda Hicks from the Carroll County Soil & Water Conservation District wrote three grants for the total project which included the sign and the second grade Earth Fair. Funding came from the Northwest Indiana Solid Waste District, Operation Round-Up/Carroll County REMC, Indiana Department of Commerce/Energy & Recycling Office, and CCSWCD.
