CC Adult Literacy partners with others

Carroll County Adult Literacy Inc., has changed its name to Carroll County

Advocates for Literacy Inc. (CCAL), to reflect the fact that the organization is expanding its focus from adult literacy to encompass family literacy.

In an effort to celebrate this expanded focus, CCAL has offered other groups in the community an opportunity to partner with CCAL to advocate for literacy.

Advocating Literacy in Carroll County grants were awarded to the following organizations: Hillcrest Elementary School, Camden Elementary School, Carroll Jr.Sr. High School, Flora-Monroe Township Public Library and Delphi Kiwanis Club.

Jennifer McNeany, coordinator for CCAL, is helping other organizations reach out to more of the residents in Carroll County.

CCAL is partnering with other literacy-minded organizations in the county to help maximize the dollars spent and the results achieved to bring an end to illiteracy. Anyone who would like to help or receive more information about CCAL may contact McNeany at (765) 490-2650.

Upcoming events for CCAL include a board meeting Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. and a new Scrabble tournament in November. Contact McNeany to register a team or for information about the events.
