Editor's note: Poll response regarding taxes

Concerned property owners should attend their township budget hearings. How many of you are aware of the new trending program that will be increasing your property taxes? Pile that on top of the fact that the county just petitioned the state to raise our tax rate to the max for the capitol project fund with the idea in mind of the jail project.

Watch the paper for the hearing date on that when the county gets the approval back from the state which should be in the next couple of weeks. Budget hearings for the various townships, I believe, are next week. Better to take the time to go than bite the bullet.
