Indiana Chaos wins World Series
With a perfect 9-0 tournament record, the 12 and under Indiana Chaos softball team won the National Championship. Three Delphi area girls are members of the team - Jordyn Bieghler, Carli Rouhier and Caitlin Schock - and Mark Schock is a coach. The National Softball Association "B" World Series was held in East Peoria, Ill. After placing first in their pool with victories over the Lancing Heat and East Peoria Express, Indiana Chaos started bracket play against the 65-team field. On their way to the national championship, they defeated the Ohio, Missouri and Illinois state champs. The Chaos ended their season with a 64 win, 9 loss record. Other team members include: Marissa Hine of Noblesville, Taylor Judy of Roachdale, Lakan Smith, Ashley Adams, and Karli Reed of Lafayette, Kelsey Dunham of Mulberry, Cara Conklin, Amy Scott, and Alyssa Rutledge of Frankfort, and coaches Gary Conklin and Roy Scott. Tryouts for the Chaos team will be held Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at Murdock Park in Lafayette. Photo provided
