Frederick L. Yerkes Frederick L. "Fred" Yerkes, 70, died peacefully in his sleep at his West Hollywood hillside home in California on July 7, 2006. He was born to the late Lawrence and Ruth Sanders Yerkes in Flora on Aug. 27, 1935. He was a 1953 graduate of Flora High School and a 1956 graduate of Ball State University at Muncie, where he majored in business. In the early 1960s and in the 1970s, Mr. Yerkes was employed in the accounting department of the Disneyland Corporation in Los Angeles, Calif. He then worked at Capital Records as a state and federal tax expert until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed world travel and was active in Democratic politics. He had a large collection of all kinds of clocks and was partial to Russian blue cats and dachshund dogs. Surviving are a sister, Norma J. Ritzler of Delphi; a niece, Tara L. Rivinius of Rocklin, Calif.; and life partner, Larry Townsend. |
