Mary L. Rock

Mary L. Rock, 79, of Delphi, died at 3:30 a.m. Aug. 3, 2006, at R o s e w a l k Village of Lafayette.

Born Sept. 13, 1926, in Nashville, Tenn., she was the daughter of Maude Pirtle and Eulah D. Owens. She was married on Jan. 12, 1950, in Lafayette, to Howard W. Rock Sr., who preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Rock was employed as a nurse's aide at the former Brethren's Home in Flora from 1970 to 1983.

She had resided at Rosewalk Village for the past three years. Prior to moving there she had lived in Delphi and Rockfield.

Mrs. Rock was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are four daughters, Lola Newman and Ruth Roberts, both of Lafayette, Rosemary Lovvorn and Rosalie McTigue (husband: Dale), all of Delphi; two sons, David Warren of Lafayette and Cecil Rock of Rockfield; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, three brothers, two stepsons and one stepdaughter.

Services were held Monday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden, with Pastor Alvin Grumbling officiating. Burial was at Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi.
