Old Settlers meeting features First Families The 151st Annual Carroll County Old Settlers Meeting will feature the First Families of Carroll County program and awards honoring pioneer ancestors and their living descendants. A certificate of recognition will be given for the Second Wave Families participants: those who can provide documented evidence that their ancestors resided in Carroll County sometime between Aug. 2, 1855 and Dec. 31, 1900. Second Wave program honors the early settlers and their families who helped build Carroll County through commerce, education, and the development of towns and villages. These old settlers helped position the county to move forward to the turn of the century and the introduction of the county into the Machine Age. The Heritage Awards will be given, along with music by Gospel Tones and Old Settlers attendance awards. Presented by the Carroll County Historical Society and Museum, the meeting will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Delphi United Methodist Church, with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. |
