Announcements Natalie McQuade, assistant principal at CARROLL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, announces that buses will drop students off at the elementary school between 7:45 and 7:50 a.m., beginning with the first day of school, Aug. 15. Buses will go to the elementary school before the junior-senior high school, resulting in a drop-off time at the elementary that is three to five minutes earlier than in the past. Parents who drive their children to the elementary school can use the same drop-off time as the buses. McQuade said students will be counted as tardy beginning at 8:10 a.m. 7TH GRADE ORIENTATION at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School will be held Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. in the school. Orientation is for all in-coming 7th graders. All 7th grade students and their parents should plan to attend. Questions should be directed to the Guidance Office at 574-9673000. Plans are underway for the annual DEER CREEK FESTIVAL. The annual event will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Deer Creek Community Building. Among the activities will be a hog roast and a concert by the Toad Barn Gang. Their free performance will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Those attending should take their own lawn chairs. CARROLL COUNTY GARDEN CLUB will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at Steve and Maxine Brewer's residence located at 2175E 400S, Bringhurst. For questions or directions, call (765) 268-2382. DELPHI AMERICAN LEGION Auxiliary Unit #75 will meet on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall on S. Washington Street. GED CLASSES will begin Aug. 29 at Delphi Community High School. Classes meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Students should report to Room AA4 with pencil and paper. A PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION about the feasibility of EXTENDING SR75 NORTH TO JOIN SR25 will be held on Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. in the commissioners'meeting room on the second floor of the courthouse. All residents are encouraged to attend. TWIN LAKES REGIONAL SEWER DISTRICT Board of Directors will hear a presentation from financial advisors H.J. Umbaugh Associates concerning Phase IIIB rates at the Thursday, Aug. 10 meeting at 7 p.m. in the White County Government Building, which is on the site of the former White County Courthouse. The first reading of the ordinance is scheduled for Aug. 24 during the regular board meeting. A public hearing for the rate ordinance is scheduled for Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in the same location. A silent auction to benefit the DELPHI PUBLIC LIBRARY is underway until Aug. 30. A portrait of Kendall Baker, who recently starred as Daddy Warbucks in DPL's Stargazers' production of "Annie Jr." and used as a prop on stage, is being auctioned to benefit Stargazers and Red Brick Theater productions. It comes complete with photos of the three main characters and all cast members on the back of the framed picture. Bids may be placed at the library or by calling (765) 564-2929.
