Hazelwood signs with Alpena

Derrick Hazelwood will play basketball for Alpena Community College in Alpena, Mich., on a full scholarship this year.

The Lumber Jacks are a Division 2 team, and Hazelwood was recruited by Coach Frank McCourt.

Hazelwood is a 2005 graduate of Delphi Community High School where he played point guard for the Oracles. He will be majoring in physical education.

He is the son of Ken and Jackie Partlow of Delphi.
