DPL receives Operation Round Up grant

Delphi Public Library has been awarded $4,000 by the Carroll County REMC through Operation Round Up. It will be used to help fund new furnishings for Northwest Carroll Library, such as a circulation desk, public reading and computer tables, public seating and replacement of shelves.

The library is in a remodeled log home. Although occupying only 1,500 square feet of space, it is a very busy place and serves as the arts and cultural center of Yeoman.

NCL circulates more than 1,000 items per month and hosts community meetings, weekly story hours for children, a summer reading program and others. The new furniture will allow for more programming

. "This new shelving and furniture will complement the beauty of our log cabin setting and help us fulfill our mission of providing materials, programs, and services to serve the community's information and entertainment needs," said librarian Jane Cruz. "We're very excited to begin this project to beautify and enhance the library."

REMC customers give their nickels and dimes to sponsor Operation Round Up by having their electric bills rounded up to the next dollar. degrees in May from Indiana University, Bloomington, were:

BROOK T. KRESSLEY, Flora, Doctor of Optometry.

JOHNNA B. KINGERY, Bringhurst, Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

NATHANIEL J. HEBER of Delphi and SCOTT E. MANNING of Bringhurst were named to the spring semester dean's list at Indiana University, Bloomington. To qualify for Indiana University Founders Day academic honors, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.31J Education

KARA NORTHCUTT, formerly of Burlington, has graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, earning a master of arts degree in clinical psychology.

She graduated from Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School in 1999 and from Indiana University in 2003, with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

She is now living and working in Chicago.
