Area schools to receive over $2.9 million

Representative Rich McClain (R-Logansport) announced recently that he will support Governor Mitch Daniels' initiative to fully repay schools payments that have been delayed since 2001.

Earlier this year, the tax amnesty program, co-authored by Rep. McClain, helped pay back over half of the delayed payments owed to Cass, Carroll, Miami and White county schools. Money to be repaid to schools that was delayed from past administrations includes:

Carroll Consolidated School Corporation, $158,666; Delphi Community School Corporation, $266,457; Frontier School Corporation; $120,689; Logansport Community School Corporation, $826,726; Maconaquah School Corporation, $509,167; North Miami Community Schools, $203,881; Pioneer Regional School Corporation , $167,442; Rossville School District, $145,491; Southeastern School Corporation, $256,258; and Twin Lakes School Corporation, $329,207.
