Hillcrest to hold Back-to-School Bash

Families and friends of education including Hillcrest Elementary School students, family members, school volunteers, teachers, support staff and friends are invited to a Backto School Bash on Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The evening will also serve as the annual Meet-the-Teacher Night. The event will be held at the back of the school. There will be free sandwiches and drinks, door prizes, clowns, animal balloons, face painting, music and more.

All are encouraged to bring folding chairs or a blanket, table service and a covered dish: kindergarten students, breads or sandwich buns; grade 1, salad with or without dressing; grade 2, dessert; grades 3 and 4, side dish; and grade 5, vegetables.

During the bash, parents are expected to meet briefly with their child's teachers during pre-arranged times: 6:30 p.m., grade 1; 7 p.m., grades 2 and 3; 7:30 p.m., grades 4 and 5. Parents will be called over the intercom. More information will be shared with students and parents at registration in August.
