Services for Christina "Tootie" Landes, 84, of Bringhurst, were held Friday at Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington. Pastor Doyal Buckner officiated and burial was in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort.

She died at 10:13 a.m. Nov. 7, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.

Born April 25, 1922, in Crossville, Tenn., she was the daughter of Charles Mack and Sara Jane Burgess Randolph. She married Vernon H. "Mike" Landes on Oct. 28, 1939, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1980.

Mrs. Landes was employed at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo, from 1957 to 1988.

A Carroll County resident for 67 years, she enjoyed cooking, reading, TV and shopping.

Surviving are a daughter, Janet Lawton of Bringhurst; a son, Ed Landes of Logansport; two grandchildren, Billy Landes of Tennessee and Stacie Landes of Lafayette; two great-grandchildren, Jaiden Massey and Trey Massey, both of Lafayette; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Buster.

She was preceded in death by nine sisters and one brother.
