Goldie Bowman, 97, of near Rockfield, died at 6:55 p.m. Oct. 13, 2006, in Chase Center, Logansport.

Born Nov. 28, 1908, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Harry and Glennie York Golden. She was married to John L. Bowman on Dec. 25, 1934, in Monticello, by the Rev. Robert Ross. Her husband preceded her in death on June 22, 2006.

Mrs. Bowman taught for many years in Carroll County and also in the Logansport Community School Corporation.

She was a member of the New Life Alliance Church in Logansport, the Adams Township Extension Homemakers Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are one daughter, Judy Leach (husband: Larry) of Manchester, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brad Leach (wife: Renee) of Lexington, Ky., Stuart Leach (wife: Darcy) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Dan Leach of Vienna, Va., Bryon Bowman Smith of Bowling Green, Ky., and Cynthia Bowman Wymann (husband: Eric) of Hereford, Ariz.; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Leach and Abigail Leach, both of Lexington, Ky., Elizabeth Elliott Leach of Murfreesboro, Ky., and Wyatt Wymann and Coree Wymann, both of Hereford, Ariz.; and one sisterin law, Lois Bowman of Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Kenneth Bowman; one brother, Floyd Golden; and five sisters, Irene Jenkins, Nell Lytle, Bess Figley, Fern Zabst, and Bertha Rynearson.

Services were held Monday at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport. The Rev. Fred Drye officiated and burial was at Rockfield IOOF Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the New Life Alliance Church.
