Vickie Ann Shafer, 51, of 614 11th St., Logansport, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at H o w a r d R e g i o n a l Health System in Kokomo.

Born July 25, 1955, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Pete and Betty (Tyra) James. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1973.

On Dec. 28, 1985, she married Bryan L. Shafer in Logansport and he survives.

Mrs. Shafer worked at the Logansport State Hospital until she retired in 2004.

She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and being around her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband are her parents of Flora; a son, William Shafer and a daughter, Alicia Shackelford (husband: Raymond), all of Logansport; a sister, Peggy Anthony (husband: James) of Lebanon, Mo.; a brother, David James (wife: Connie) of Bringhurst; three grandchildren, Lexi Shackelford, Chadwick Shackelford and Riley Shafer, all of Logansport; and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by four grandparents and one nephew.

Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Bill Godbey officiated and burial was at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.
