A memorial service for Elba Ina Yike Garrison will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.

She died Oct. 8, 2006, at age 99 years.

Born March 3, 1907, in Chili, Miami County, she was the eldest of six children of Arthur William and Iva Nellie Tracy Yike.

She lived in the central Indiana area the first 50 years of her life and called Florida home for the remainder of her life.

Surviving are five children, Arthur Sipes of Port Charlotte, Fla., Robert Sipes of Shelbyville, Ind., Leroy Sipes (wife: Kathy) of Brice, Ohio, Madeline Hines (husband: Bob) of Kokomo, Ind., and Margaret Reinke (husband: Ervin) of Galveston; a brother, Henry Yike of Logansport, Ind.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and four siblings, she was preceded in death by three husbands, James E. Sipes, Floyd W. Harmon and Grover C. Garrison. She was also preceded in death by her eldest son, James Sipes, who died in 2002.
