Patricia Ann Stephens
Patricia Ann Stephens, 81, of rural Logansport, died at 6:33 p.m. Oct. 16, 2006, at Memorial Hospital, Logansport.
Born March 27, 1925, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Ralph F. and Ruby B. Dilly Engle. She was married on March 25, 1944, in Logansport, to Paul Bernard "Bun" Stephens, who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2003.
Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker and helped run the family farm.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Double Dozen Extension Homemakers Club, TOPS Club, and Women of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
She enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, and spending time by the pool. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Fife (husband: Darrell) of Pittsboro; a son-in-law, John Herd (wife: Linda) of Kewanna; a sister, Georgia Taylor (husband: Bob) of Logansport; six grandchildren, Kathie Brown (husband: Mike) of Kewanna, Kristie Champion (husband: Bill) of Logansport, Ron Herd (wife: Jean) of Kewanna, Ryan Fife of London, U.K., Jason Herd (wife: Stephanie) of Kewanna, and Chad Fife (wife: Michelle) of Indianapolis; 16 greatgrandchildren, Brandon Herrold, Lindsey Herrold, Jordan Champion, Nathan Champion, Katie Sue Champion, Corey Champion (wife: Itsey), Hillary Baker (husband: Jeff), Courtney Herd, Alex Herd, Zachary Herd, Sierra Frye, Savannah Frye, Adrienne Frye, Erin Frye, Noah Herd, and Keaton; and four great-grandchildren, Elliot Baker, Lydia Baker, Will Baker and Caleb Champion.
Also surviving are a sisterin law, Kate Lane (husband: Cecil) of Logansport, and three nephews, Tom Lane (wife: Diane) of Logansport, Robert Taylor (wife: Patti) of California, and Mike Lane (wife: Martha) of Indianapolis.
A daughter, Suzanne Herd, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at The Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport. Pastors Tom McShannock and Sandy Hutchens will officiate. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
