Is county-wide consolidation possible? Robert Ayres, a member of the Carroll Consolidation School Board, was a former member of the County Reorganization Committee with his appointment in 1959. He stated that plans were presented in 1959 for a county-wide system, but due to opposition, the county-wide system was never drawn up.
Both superintendents of Carroll and Delphi Consolidated School system declined taking a position on the matter of a county-wide system. They emphasized that it was not up to them but rather to the communities they serve.

When Mrs. Barbara Walker tackles a project, you can be certain she will do a thorough job. Her most recent major project was cleaning an upstairs wardrobe. The clamoring of children downstairs made her hasten her work but she diligently stayed with her task.
Finally with all the clothes neatly arranged on hangers she hurried for the spray. So determined she was that no moth would feast on the clothes, she sprayed...and sprayed, closed the wardrobe door and finally gave some attention to her children.
Later she returned to survey the results of the spraying and noticed a fragrance not obnoxious to even a moth. Further investigation revealed that the clothes were stiffer than a dead moth or any other critter. Still further investigation revealed that she had sprayed the clothes liberally with her hair set spray. Can anyone imagine the results, should she use the moth killer on her hair?

It sounds fishy, but you must believe it. It's the truth. Byrum Crosby, 21-year-old pitcher for the Delphi baseball team that played at Logansport Sunday afternoon, broke his arm in the act of pitching a fast one. As Crosby hurled the ball with all the force he could master, the bone in his right arm, above the elbow, snapped. The sound of the bone breaking could be heard 100 feet from the pitcher's box.

Mrs. Wm Brown, who resides near Young America shot a hawk Saturday that was just rising into the air with a chicken which he had snatched from the barnyard. She had been attracted to the yard by a noisy clatter of the hens and realizing that a hawk must be near, she grabbed a riffle. As the hawk soared upward she fired. The bird turned a somersault and fell to the ground dead.
